Guizhou's 10 key sectors post 1 trillion yuan in output value

During the first three quarters of the year, the total output value of the 10 major industries in Southwest China's Guizhou province was 1.07 trillion yuan ($167.12 billion), a 13.4 percent increase on the previous corresponding period, according to findings from the Guizhou Statistics Bureau.

Breaking down the total output value of the 10 industries, the modern energy sector contributed 242.45 billion yuan, the organic food sector had a total output value of 119.56 billion yuan, while basic materials generated 119.24 billion yuan. Some 113.32 billion yuan was from big data and electronics information, 109.91 billion yuan from high-quality tobacco and wine, 108.84 billion yuan from new building materials, 100.18 billion yuan from advanced equipment manufacturing, 94.64 billion yuan from the modern chemicals industry, 81.84 billion yuan from medicine and 41.22 billion yuan from the new energy vehicles sector.

The total output value of the industrial sectors was 891.7 billion yuan, accounting for 83.5 percent of the total output value of the 10 key industries. Meanwhile, the total output value of other related industries was 175.69 billion yuan, accounting for 16.5 percent of the total .

During the nine-month period, Guizhou's 10 major industries generated 93.56 billion yuan in total profit, with 91.21 billion yuan contributed by industrial sectors and 2.35 billion yuan coming from other industries.

High-quality tobacco and wine contributed the most earnings, to the tune of 57.85 billion yuan, which was 61.8 percent of the total profit.
