The prefecture-level city of Zunyi – located in Southwest China's Guizhou – was recently included in the fourth group identified as national culture and technology integration demonstration bases, reportedly making it the second of its kind in the province.

National culture and technology integration demonstration bases are recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Radio and Television Administration.

The program aims to promote the integration of culture and technology, enhance technological applications and independent innovation in cultural endeavors and promote the development of the cultural sector as a whole.

Zunyi has been integrating its modern technologies with the CPC's history, world heritage culture and its tea culture -- cultivating new business models and consumption clusters related to cultural tourism.

By promoting the integrated development of industries, the city and scenic spots, Zunyi has reportedly boosted the development of emerging and high technologies, including virtual reality, augmented reality, intelligent terminals, the internet of things and its big data services.

After its approval as a national culture and technology integration demonstration project, it is expected that Zunyi will contribute to Guizhou's cultural-technology integration, its recruitment of top personnel, as well as its industrial and sustainable development.
