Guizhou sets development goals for 2022

The fifth plenary of the 13th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 20.

At the opening ceremony, the work report of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government was released.

According to the work report, in 2022, Guizhou's GDP is expected to exceed 2 trillion yuan ($315.37 billion) and increase by 7 percent year-on-year; the added value of agriculture is expected to increase by 6 percent; the added value of industries above a designated size is expected to increase by more than 10 percent; and consumer prices are expected to increase by about 3 percent.

The added value of Guizhou's service industry is expected to increase by about 7.5 percent, the revenue in the general public budget is expected to increase by about 5 percent, 600,000 people are expected to find jobs in urban areas, the surveyed unemployment rate is expected to be less than 5.5 percent, and the per capita disposable incomes of permanent urban and rural residents are expected to increase by 10 percent and 12 percent, respectively.

Guizhou also set high-quality development goals for 2022. This year, the added value of its manufacturing industry, digital economy and green economy are expected to account for about 21 percent, 36 percent and 46 percent of GDP, respectively.

The urbanization rate of permanent residents is expected to be around 57 percent, the conversion rate of agricultural product processing is expected to exceed 59 percent, the added value of tourism-related industries is expected to increase by more than 15 percent, and the average spend of per tourist is expected to increase by more than 10 percent.

Guizhou's forest coverage rate is expected to be around 62.8 percent, the average education years of its working-age population is expected to be 10 years, and the average life expectancy is expected to be 76 years.

In 2022, Guizhou will focus on industrial development, rural revitalization, market entity cultivation, investment and consumption, opening-up and innovation, environmental protection, and prevention of risks.
