Southwest China's Guizhou province recently received national support for its development of the West China Development Program in the new era. The support includes the promotion of comprehensive rural revitalization and new urbanization.

Guizhou will focus on people who were lifted out of poverty, consolidate poverty alleviation achievements, and boost the integrated and coordinated development of urban and rural areas.

Though all impoverished counties in Guizhou have shaken off poverty, the province will continue to implement national rural revitalization policies to help less developed counties and support relocated impoverished people.

To improve the living environment in rural areas, Guizhou will protect drinking water resources, upgrade and renovate power grids, protect ethnic villages, traditional villages, and famous historical and cultural villages and towns, and encourage more companies to attract talent to rural areas.

By 2030, Guizhou plans to build more than 28 million mu (1.87 million hectares) of high-standard farmlands, launch more high-quality and boutique agricultural products, build more agricultural brands, make farmlands in mountainous areas suitable for mechanized planting, and support the construction of cold chain logistics facilities in production areas.

The province will also support reform and innovation in Guian New Area, Bijie's demonstration area for new development philosophies, city cluster development in central Guizhou, and the coordinated development of cities and towns.

In addition, it will improve public services by allowing county infrastructure to serve more villages.
