Southwest China's Guizhou province has listed improving people's well-being as a major task during the new era of West China Development, according to a document recently released by the State Council.

To maintain long-term security and stability in the province, and help the people of Guizhou live and work in peace and contentment, Guizhou will offer vocational skill training to cultivate innovative and skilled talent.

Guizhou will implement policies to reduce corporate burdens, keep the payroll stable, and create more jobs so as to increase employees' vocational skills and incomes.

With educational development as a priority, Guizhou will popularize inclusive pre-school education, balance the development of compulsory education in different areas, improve the quality of vocational education, and set up colleges and universities related to big data, industry, culture and tourism.

Physical health is essential to people's wellbeing, which is why Guizhou plans to accelerate the construction of national and provincial medical treatment centers, improve the medical treatment quality at the grassroots level, provide targeted medical services for focus groups, and improve the province’s ability to deal with major public health emergencies.

Guizhou will also provide high-quality public services, solve the housing problems faced by new residents and young people, offer elderly-care services for senior citizens, and optimize the public service system.
