Since 2016, Southwest China's Guizhou province has been exploring approaches to green development and improving the supply system for green and clean energy.

In 2022, Guizhou built 12 new energy projects, including seven photovoltaic power generation projects, and increased installed capacity by 1.14 million kilowatts.

Guizhou has so far built wind farms in Weining county, Hezhang county, Leishan county and Tongzi county. By the end of 2021, the province's installed capacity for wind power was 5.80 million kw, producing 10.46 billion kilowatt-hours of power.

Guizhou boasts a total length of more than 10,000 kilometers of rivers. To take advantage of its rich water resources, it has built various hydropower stations to supply electricity to not only the province, but also South and East China.

Every year, the electricity transmitted from Guizhou can guarantee one-third of the electricity demand of Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

By the end of 2021, Guizhou's installed capacity of hydropower was 22.83 kw, generating 73.45 billion kwh in power.
