Guizhou investment in modern industries retains rapid growth

During the first half of the year, Southwest China's Guizhou province expanded its investment in the new model of industrialization, urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism industrialization – achieving an 8.1 percent year-on-year increase.

The city's industrial investment increased by 28.4 percent year-on-year and accounted for 24.4 percent of the provincial total during the six months. Investment in manufacturing increased by 29.9 percent and accounted for 12.9 percent of the provincial total.

Elsewhere, investment in middle and high-tech manufacturing increased by 75.2 percent year-on-year and accounted for 2.9 percent of the Guizhou total.

Furthermore, urban construction investment related to the new model of urbanization increased by 12.2 percent, which was 4.1 percentage points higher than the provincial average growth rate.

In the first half, investment in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries increased by a combined 22.7 percent year-on-year – 6.7 percentage points higher than that in the first quarter of the year.

During the same period, Guizhou's investment in culture, sports and entertainment increased by 24.1 percent, 16 percentage points higher than the provincial average growth rate.
