Guizhou CPPCC member makes suggestions for agricultural product development

During the first plenary of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Guizhou Committee, which is being held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 12-16, CPPCC member Xue Chengmeng delivered a speech in which she offered suggestions on how to develop Guizhou's agricultural products.

Xue offered six suggestions, the first being the application of cross-border e-commerce in agricultural product promotion. Relying on China Railway Express and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Guizhou should promote the export of agricultural products and encourage cross-border e-commerce companies to innovate in the areas of technical standards, business processes, supervision models and informationization.

Second, Guizhou should improve its service guarantee system and open up overseas markets for agricultural products companies. Diversified services such as direct purchasing from countries of origin, fresh food processing, digital marketing, and localized operation should be provided.

To accelerate the construction of a public service platform for cross-border e-commerce of agricultural products, Guizhou should attract companies with overseas warehouses and cross-border e-commerce companies, expand exports, and improve the coverage of its agricultural products in overseas markets.

Third, Guizhou should encourage universities and vocational colleges to cooperate with companies and train people with an international vision, foreign language skills, and knowledge of agricultural products and foreign trade.

Fourth, to promote the transformation and upgrading of Guizhou's foreign trade service for agricultural products, Guizhou should participate in the formulation of international rules and standards and enhance intergovernmental cooperation with other countries.

Fifth, Guizhou should support agricultural product companies looking to apply advanced technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and virtual reality, support the construction of online service platforms, and support companies looking to use digital technologies to increase the value of agricultural product brands,

Finally, Guizhou should create excellent brands to meet consumers' different needs regarding agricultural products and improve the international influence and competitiveness of agricultural products.
