In 2022, Southwest China's Guizhou province set goals to increase tourism industrial added value and the per capita expenditure of tourists, and laid out plans to cultivate tourism market entities, upgrade the tourism industry, improve tourism services, and activate idle and inefficient tourism projects.

Statistics show that last year, the growth rate in the number of tourists to Guizhou was similar to the national average, while the growth rate of tourism income was slightly higher than the national average. Guizhou's per capita expenditure of tourists increased by 3.4 percent year-on-year.

Guizhou has optimized and established new mechanisms targeting tourism statistics, economic operation monitoring, market supervision, financial support, and revitalization of idle and inefficient projects.

It has also achieved progress in building tourism brands, relieving companies' financial pressure, attracting excellent projects, and vitalizing inefficient projects and companies.

In 2022, Guizhou's musical performance Shouwang Sama won the Qunxing Award, and four achievements were listed among China's top 100 new archaeological discoveries.

It also completed the construction of 100 cultural service demonstration stations for relocated impoverished people, 18 social profit libraries, and 18 demonstration grassroots-level cultural centers.

In 2023, Guizhou's culture and tourism departments aim to attract more tourists, improve the quality of tourism products, protect cultural heritage items, and enhance Guizhou's popularity as a province of mountainous parks.
