On 16 September 2013, after the opening ceremony of ACC's 4th "My ASEAN&China" Multimedia Art Exhibition Series: The Abode of Peace-Brunei at Guiyang International Eco-Conference Centre, H. E. Mme. Magdalene Teo, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to China, and ACC Secretary General, Mr. Ma Mingqiang, visited Guizhou Normal University, had a discussion with Mr. Wu Pengcheng, the President of the University, and his team, and attended a lecture on "Eyes of the Nature – Inspiration by Brunei" by Ms. Rita Zhao.

Mr. Wu Pengcheng spoke to introduce the university. He expected to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the universities in Brunei as well as other universities in ASEAN. H.E. Mme. Magdalene Teo expressed her kind willingness to assist Guizhou Normal University to establish cooperative relations with the universities in Brunei. She also mentioned that some of the universities in Brunei have provided scholarships to the Chinese students who could go to study English language in Brunei. ACC SG Ma Mingqiang said it is a significant task for ACC to strengthen education exchanges between China and ASEAN. The ACC will continue to play an active role to liaise Guizhou Normal University with other universities in ASEAN Member States.

After the meeting, Ms. Rita Zhao convened the lecture on "Eyes of the Nature-Inspiration by Brunei" at the Auditorium of Guizhou Normal University, sharing her first-hand experience and in depth feelings on charm and beauty of Brunei. The lecture was successfully conducted and well attended by nearly a thousand of students, scholars and interested officials from the university. The students actively participated in interactive Q&A session on the lecture itself as well as on ASEAN with Ms. Rita Zhao and representatives from ACC.
