Le Dao Library, Guizhou's first public-interest library, organized by over 10 citizens, opened to the public in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang on Saturday. The library is located in the New World, a large-scale residential community.

Le Dao Library now has 2,000 books, covering various fields such as humanities, social science and children's books. Citizens can apply for membership by donating 25 books, and members can also exchange books with the library.

The library will also hold a culture salon, a "living library" activity, culture lectures and parent-child activities.

"We usually spend our leisure time on KTV or playing mahjong, but now there is a free library near home so we can come here frequently to communicate with other readers," one resident said happily.
