"We shall focus on folk art and inherit and protect national folk culture," said Chen miner, governor of Guizhou province, at the China (Guizhou) International Folk Crafts & Culture Products Expo 2013 on November 16.

More than 300 artists and designers from more than 60 countries and regions are taking this opportunity to show off more than 30,000 crafts at the expo.

Chen walked around the expo exhibition center, learning about different kinds of handicrafts and talking with artists from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Cameroon, South Korea and Belgium.

"Folk arts represent rich culture and the human spirit. Guizhou needs to expand the folk cultural brand. It is necessary to strengthen cultural communication,"he said.
