Guizhou saw heavy snowfall starting on the night of January 12.

"By early morning on Jan 13, the snow in Guiyang had reached 1.3 centimeters. The heaviest snow reached 3.4 centimeters in Kaiyang county," said Xue Xiaoguang, vice-director of the Guiyang National Reference Climatological Station.

Xue said,"Icing on the road may affect traffic to some degree."

Statistics from the Guizhou Weather Bureau show that, between January 12 and January 13, 47 counties in Guizhou province saw snowfall. More than 21 counties had freezing rain, and 21 counties had low temperatures below 0 C.
