Guizhou Tyre Co Ltd, one of the leading equipment manufacturers in Xiuwen, has relocated to Zhazuo industrial park, Xiuwen prefecture, from Sanqiao, Guiyang. The company will invest 7.1 billion yuan ($1.2 billion) in total to hit an output value of 10.6 billion yuan. It plans to produce 12.8 million radial tires annually, with 12,000 job opportunities to offer.
"Our old plants were built in 1958 at Sanqiao, Guiyang. All the workers were accustomed to the area, but the city's expansion and our growth forced the relocation," said Zeng Xisheng, deputy general manager of Guizhou Tyre Co's branch company.
Guizhou Tyre Co will complete the first phase of production in Zhazuo in July with its first tire produced in February. The second phase will be done by the end of this year.
The innovation-driven regional cooperation between Beijing and Guiyang also injects new blood to the company, which cooperates with Beijing in technological innovation.
"Chongqing's light metro is equipped with our tires, which can help to reduce 75 decibels of noise," Zeng said. The technological innovation brings them confidence and courage.

Xiuwen also sees the pharmaceutical industry as important. Guizhou Weikang Pharmaceuticals Co Ltd, part of Xiuwen's Miao medicine industry, achieved an output value of 1.5 billion yuan and paid taxes of 40 million yuan in 2013.
The company hopes to become a listed company within 5 years with sales revenue of 600 million yuan ($96.2 million). The company has more than 100 staff members. About one-third are technicians, and the company was cited as a high and new technological company by Guizhou Science and Technology Agency.
The company has invested more than 30 million yuan to build four modern production lines according to the National GMP Standard. The company's products are on sale in 26 provinces as well as Beijing and Shanghai.
Xiuwen is preferentially developing three competitive industries followed by its culture industry during construction of the Wang Yangming cultural park. The prefecture aims at the international market.
