A signing ceremony between China Daily and Guizhou University on their strategic cooperation was held on July 10 in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province. Both sides will cooperate on aspects of student social practices, English education and training.

Guizhou University has a history of more than 110 years and is the top university in Guizhou province. As a leader in Guizhou's education system, it has been trying all means to develop itself into an influential university both at home and abroad with rich educational resources and high standards.

Chna Daily, as China's flagship national English newspaper, is influential among readers abroad. With a global offering of 900,000 copies, it, together with new media, presents China to the world and spreads China's voices.

Taking advantage of China Daily's media influence, Guizhou University will work with China Daily to build a high-level communication platform to broaden its influence. Also, making use of China Daily’s English advantages, it will work with China Daily to carry out internship programs as well as cooperation in English education.

Ren Gangjian, deputy Party secretary of Guizhou University said "Relying on each other's resources, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation and realize mutual development. The agreement is just a start and I hope Guizhou University will be known by the world through its cooperation with China Daily."

Gao Anming, editor-in-chief of China Daily said both sides complemented each other on their missions and careers, and China Daily would strengthen the reports on Guizhou University, for example, at the forthcoming ASEAN Education Exchange Week organized by Guizhou University

At the end of the ceremony, Gao presented a lecture to students of Guizhou University and discussed international communication and methods of storytelling to the world with students.
