Guiyang: Tourism revenue breaks 40b

According to statistics released by the Guiyang tourism industry development bureau, between January and June, Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, welcomed 36.40 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 20.85 percent, realizing tourism revenue of 44.15 billion yuan ($7.11 billion), a year-on-year increase of 21.2 percent.
Starting this year, through the ninth Tourism Development Conference, Guiyang has been upgrading the infrastructure at all major scenic spots as well as putting focus on tourism promotion, such as the media promotion conference themed, "A Cool Guiyang".
