Overseas beverages highlight int'l alcoholic beverage expo

According to statistics from the Guizhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quaratine Bureau, between 2010 and 2014, a total of 100,000 liters of foreign alcohol, worth $680,000, were imported to Guizhou.

They were mainly imported from Australia, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the US and South Africa.
Among all the types of alcohol, wine was the most popular product in Guizhou, with imports taking up 90 percent of the total import volume, or roughly 95,000 liters.

As many as 6,000 liquor buyers and 1,400 top beverage companies, including Chteau Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Martell and Hennessy, from 40 countries and regions all over the world participated in the fourth China Guizhou International Alcoholic Beverages Expo to present their beverage products and drinking cultures and find business opportunities.

The No 2 exhibition hall is set up for overseas beverage companies. Among all the foreign alcohol drinks on exhibition, wine was the leading product.
"Through the expo, I have learnt much about Chinese customers' drinking habits. Wine is very popular here, and most people prefer the red Bordeaux. We have brought our top red Bordeaux collection here for Guizhou people," said a salesman from the Bordeaux vineyard.
