"Thanks to your kindness I can have my hair cut at home," said Chen, aged 80, who expressed her gratitude to volunteers from Hebin community, Nanming district, Guiyang city, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

In the past few days, the weather has become frigid. Considering the inconvenience for elderly citizens to have their hair cut outside, Hebin community in Nanming district organized volunteers to provide door-to-door hair cut services to them.

Nanming district recently set up the first youth social organization platform in Guizhou province, which provides volunteer services and free lunch to the elderly.

To date, total registered volunteers in Nanming district has reached up to 62,294, accounting for 11 percent of the permanent residents in the district. More than hundreds of volunteer teams along with registered volunteers are conducting thousands of activities every year.

Nanming district convened the Kick-Off Meeting of the Volunteering League last December 26, declaring the establishment of the Nanming District Volunteering League. This move is a symbol that 60,000 volunteers in Nanming district have found their homes.
