The heavyweight tournament organized by World Boxing Organization will be held in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province. 10 champions from 7 countries will participate to the tournament.
A press conference held on February 2 introduced details of the forthcoming event to the media and public. The organizer believes that the event has been well prepared, and boxing is popular in Guiyang which is the reason WBO selects it as the host city.
WBO has successfully held many sessions in China, including in Tianjin, Hunan province and Macao.
In addition, Guiyang is selected also because it is the hometown of Zou Shiming, who is Chinese professional boxer and the current WBO International Flyweight champion. Zou is known for being China's most successful amateur boxer of all time, winning three amateur world titles at the 2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships, 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships and 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships,
The championship is due to open on June 27, 2015, which will be the biggest match ever since the first WBO tournament in China. And it cannot only improve the reputation of boxing but also strengthen the international communication.
