According to the Guiyang Tourism Development Committee, Ctrip.com, China's leading online travel agency, hosted the first Chinese Tourist Conference, also called the Ceremony of the Best Destination in 2014, this February. Guiyang was voted as one of the Top 10 Most Favored Destinations by Chinese voters born in the 1980s, ranking seventh overall.
According to a polling of three million Internet users, the list included the Top 10 Best Domestic Destinations, China's Top 10 Best Tourist Cities and the Top 10 Best Overseas Tourist Cities.
Guiyang has ranked as one of the top Worldwide Summer Resorts and won itself the brand of "Cool Guiyang" thanks to its weather advantages and abundant tourism resources. Also, the China-Guiyang Hot Spring Festival has made Guiyang a year-round destination. Since official operations of the Guiyang-Guangzhou route began last December and the opening of the Changsha-Guiyang high-speed rail line this year, a convenient transportation system has developed to support Guiyang tourism.
