The Guizhou delegation raised 25 proposals and 304 suggestions in the Third Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), 22 and 109 more than those of the previous year, respectively.
All the 25 proposals are related to legislation, such as legislating wetland resources laws and strengthening supervision for peer-to-peer lending.
Of the 304 suggestions, health care, culture protection and ecological civilization are covered, as well as some new points including punishment for bribery and reform of the property rights system in rural China.
Huang Huiling, an NPC deputy from Guizhou, submitted one proposal and 14 suggestions. Huang said, "Attending the two sessions will ensure we fulfill our political responsibilities strictly according to people's needs and propose solutions on their behalf."
NPC Deputy Wang Jichao, who is also the director of a Yi language translation and research center in Bijie in Guizhou, stressed that several original villages are disappearing with the emergence of modern construction. He suggested setting up history museums in eligible villages and counties to strengthen cultural confidence.
Wang said, "Being elected as an NPC deputy will allow me to contribute to Guizhou, and my responsibility will never end."
