There were scholars and Buddhist monks from all over the world gathering for the 2015 China Fanjing Mountain Forum on Ecological Civilization and Buddhist Culture in this site of Maitreya rites, near the city of Tongren, Guizhou province, on June 29, to discuss the ecology and civilization from a Buddhist perspective.

The theme of the forum was "Clean heart, harmonious world" and the scholars tasking part said that the balance and harmony between people and society and people and nature are the essence of Buddhism, and that it can be applied to the construction of ecological civilization and environmental protection.
