Geely auto project gets underway in Guiyang

Construction work of a new Guiyang Geely industrialization project got underway, on July 1, on a 79.8-hectare area in the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province.

Total cost of the project is 10.20 billion yuan ($1.64 billion), and it is expected to have an annual output of 300,000 vehicles, including 100,000 methanol cars and 20,000 gas fueled. The first group of vehicles should come off the assembly line by the end of 2017.

Geely is a Chinese auto manufacturer with headquarters in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, whose main products are cars, taxis, motorcycles, engines, and transmissions. Its Guiyang facilities opened this July.
