Great expansion for SW China railways by 2020

The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province expects to have 160 kilometers of railway lines by 2020, according to the China-ASEAN rail transit summit, on August 4 in the city, with the participants praising China for its high-speed railway services and said they agree on the importance of railway construction for urbanization in an eco-friendly way.

One participant remarked, "In three decades, China and ASEAN countries will see a boom in railways but we have to allocate our resources efficiently and train technicians better to get the most out of the industrial growth."

The summit also saw the signing by China's Kaiyuan Corp and Guiyang's Vocational College, Thailand's Asian Industrial College, and Vietnam's Nam Dinh Industrial College on academic and school-entrepreneur cooperation.

The summit is a part of the 8th ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, starting on August 4, in Guiyang, with representatives of China, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries taking part.
