Guiyang growth in exports and imports in the first half

The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province reports a more than 68-percent increase in its exports and imports in the Jan - June period of this year, amounting to $5.1 billion dollars, on August 5, with $4.6 billion in exports, up 67.1 percent from the same last year period.
Out of nine major cities in the province, Guiyang accounts for 84 percent of exports and imports, and, compared with 10 provincial capitals across western China, it is just behind Chengdu in Sichuan, Xi'an in Shaanxi, and Kunming in Yunnan, in value of imports and exports, and in second place in the area of growth.
The ASEAN region plays a major role in this as the largest export and import market, with trade valued at $954 million, but 14.1 percent lower than that of the same last year period, while the second largest market is Hong Kong, which showed 7.87-percent growth, gradually making it an essential trading partner.
