The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province recently announced the opening of a new medical examination center, the first of its kind in the region, where the concentration will be on immunology, biochemistry and pathology.

Representatives of the new Ankang Medical Examination Center, which covers a 2,200-square-meter area, say they reached an agreement with 12 hospitals in the area, at the opening ceremony, to help improve the allocation of medical resources and the public's well-being.

City and provincial officials also say that this lab marks the the opening of a larger network to provide fuller coverage across the province and that it will use GPS to track orders and improve sample security and test results.
