SW China city's hi-tech, emerging industry development

The Baiyun district of the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province has become the home of many hi-tech companies recently, in its 272-square-kilometer site, with many leading development zones, such as Gaoxin Hi-tech, a national zone and the province's first free trade zone.

The area also has global leaders, such as Foxconn, ZTE and Sina, which have factories or branches there, and 507 enterprises in emerging industries such as big data and cloud computing.
Baiyun outperformed the rest of the province, in the first half of this year, with its economic development, powered by the hi-tech companies in the zone.

In commenting on this, Yang Yu, the district head, said, "Thanks to the cooperative development strategy, the district's economic and social development soared in 2014, showing a 17.1-percent growth over the previous year."
Yang went on to say that, with the district's pleasant ecology and environment and its big data industry, Baiyun is reaching new levels of economic, social, and management development.
