Lu Wei, director of the Cyberspace Administration in China, attended and addressed the 2016 "Guizhou on Cloud" Promotion Fair on March 2, in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province. |
Lu noted that he was impressed with the address of Chen Min'er, secretary of the Party's Guizhou Provincial Committee.
Lu noted that countries around the world have all attached great importance to the digital industry and accelerate plans to lead the big data industry. The big data industry cluster is emerging and is expected to increase 30 percent each year.
He also noted the big data may drive economic upgrade. So far, Chinese economy is in face of various challenges including structure adjustment and the constraints of resources and environment. Developing big data industry is an efficient way to develop economy.
He also thought that big data may help government to make well-informed decisions. Government can get to know people's concern better and address it in time. Big data is beneficial to enhance governance efficiency.
He said he was confident that the pilot zone can be a national demonstration zone under the guidance of the Party's Guizhou Committee and Guizhou Provincial Government.
Lu hoped that the big data industry in Guizhou can support the economic development of the province and that the zone can take the lead in the big data industry in the entire country.
