Guiyang has strengthened its cultural influence among visitors from home and abroad, as the Guizhou provincial capital held a traditional cultural activity on June 8 during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, which fell from June 7 to 9 this year.
During the holiday, the Guiyang Confucius Academy provided colorful activities themed around folk arts and intangible cultures, such as making glutinous rice dumplings, singing Kunqu Opera, admiring violin performances, and inscription rubbing.

"I'm very surprised to see Kunqu Opera at the academy and I also learned some movements from the opera teacher. It was fun and I hope such cultural event can be held more in the future," said a Guiyang resident named Li Mei.
