2024 Guiyang Marathon kicks off

The 2024 Guiyang Marathon kicked off on June 16 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with 32,000 participants from home and abroad admiring the beauty of "Cool Guiyang" during an intense run.

Starting from the Guiyang International Conference and Exhibition Center, the runners passed through Guanshanhu Park, Yueshanhu Wetland Park, Karst Park, and Quanhu Park. Along the way, they encountered notable landmarks such as the Jinyang Eight Horses Sculpture and the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center, fully experiencing Guiyang's natural environment and unique charm during throughout the course.

After intense competition, Cen Wanjiang from Guizhou won the men's full marathon with a time of 2 hr 20 min 33 sec.

Ethiopian runner Robi Genet Tadesse won the champion in the women's full marathon, clocking in at 2:44:22, followed by Zhang Shanshan from Guizhou, who finished with at time of 2:53:46, and Chinese runner Wang Wentian, who finished in 2:54:12.

In the half marathon, Chinese runner Liu Xu won the men's title with a time of 1:8:34. Ding Changqin from Guizhou won the women's title in 1:14:8, followed by Ethiopian runner Beyene Bete Hemasmare, who finished in 1:17:32, and Wang Min from Guizhou, with a time of 1:18:00.
