Guiyang and Gui'an's new urban jobs surge

A total of 530,900 new urban jobs have been created in Guiyang and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province since December 2021, with 366,400 new university and college graduates staying in Guiyang over the period, according to the Guiyang bureau of human resources and social security.
In 2023, 371,000 jobs were announced in Guiyang and Gui'an, while 170,000 positions were offered from January to May this year. Fully leveraging the advantages of human resource service agencies, Guiyang and Gui'an have also explored 138,300 flexible jobs.
Focusing on employment and entrepreneurship among college and university graduates, Guiyang and Gui'an have implemented policies concerning talent attraction incentives, job searching and entrepreneurship subsidies. Subsidies amounting to 143 million yuan ($22.15 million) have been distributed so far this year, benefiting 69,700 individuals.
Additionally, efforts have been made to establish a talent housing security system, offering free accommodation and rental apartments to over 41,000 young individuals. A total of over 70,000 talent rental housing units have been gathered. A total of 2.63 million yuan in rent subsidies and 5.4 million yuan in house-buying subsidies were distributed to graduates staying in Guiyang and Gui'an. A total of 10,600 units were sold at a discount to talent, and construction on 3,600 units of allocated government-subsidized housing was also launched.
