Cool climate improves Guiyang's summer tourism

With an average summer temperature of 22.3 C, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to launch some unique culture and tourism activities, injecting vitality into the summer tourism market.
In the first half of this year, Guiyang received over 100,000 foreign tourists, surpassing the total of the previous year. The city's 139 villages and 1,296 buildings, totaling 11,630 rooms, are currently witnessing an influx of tourists coming to escape the summer heat.
Guiyang has leveraged its wide variety of food to enhance the development of culture and tourism. Popular food streets such as Minsheng Road and Caijia Street in the old city center have seen a surge in unique cuisines, tickling the taste buds of visitors with spicy, sour, exotic, and fresh flavors.
Additionally, the increasingly popular roadside concerts in Guiyang have attracted people looking to experience the culture, lifestyle and hustle and bustle of "Cool Guiyang".
Data shows that Guiyang has seen 12 percent and 15 percent year-on-year increases in total tourist arrivals and tourism revenue, respectively, in the first half of this year. The number of overnight tourists has also risen by 12 percent, with inbound tourists achieving a growth of 383 percent year-on-year.
