Guiyang sees tourism boom over Mid-Autumn Festival holiday

During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sep 15-17, over 90 distinctive activities were launched in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province, showcasing the unique charm of "Cool Guiyang".

During the holiday, Yunyan district received nearly 383,700 visitors, generating a total tourism revenue of 312 million yuan ($44.19 million), while Qianling Park attracted about 150,000 visitors. Over 10 activities were launched, including sharing a giant two-meter mooncake, an ancient style fair, and a symphony orchestra tour.

The Nanming district received 449,000 visitors, generating a tourism revenue of 386 million yuan. A flash mob event featuring a cultural creativity market held in the Jiaxiu Pavilion scenic spot attracted 60,000 visitors on site, driving revenue of more than 40,000 yuan.
Huaxi district received 500,595 visitors, generating comprehensive tourism revenue of 304.2 million yuan, while the Qingyan Ancient Town received around 143,992 visitors. Traditional folk performance arts such as fire pot and molten iron fireworks were held in the Tianhetan Tourist Resort, offering visitors a chance to experience a journey through time.

Guanshanhu district received a total of 247,800 visitors, with tourism revenue reaching 144.94 million yuan. Various commercial complexes offered over 20 discount and promotional events on dining and autumn clothing. What's more, the 2024 Guiyang International Tennis Open commenced on Sep 15, with athletes, referees, and coaches from 50 countries participating.
In addition, Qingzhen city received 216,000 visitors, generating tourism revenue of 113.46 million yuan. Xifeng county received 176,000 visitors, with tourism revenue amounting to 91.4 million yuan.
