2025 Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival concludes

On July 20, the three-day 2025 Guiyang Baiyun International Kite Festival concluded in Baiyun district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. The event attracted representatives from seven countries including South Korea, Hungary, Switzerland, and Ukraine, as well as 27 teams from across China, with 136 athletes competing in 17 different categories.

Additionally, over 20 activities, such as the Time Kite Exhibition, Industrial Symphony, and Coffee Wine Tasting, were launched to enhance the visitor experience. The kite festival welcomed approximately 163,000 visitors, a 25.8 percent increase compared to the previous year, generating a total tourism revenue of 61.03 million yuan ($8.5 million) and driving a 27.4 percent growth in the accommodation, catering, wholesale, and retail service industries.
The first Baiyun Kite Festival was held in 1989 with only 16 teams and 51 participants. In 2002, Baiyun was honored with the title of "China's Western Kite Flying Town". Over the past 36 years, the district has not only presented the world with a cultural feast but also offered a high-quality development story written with cultural confidence.
