The 2025 Guizhou "Spark Cup" International Youth Football Invitational Tournament commenced on July 29 at the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center. Over 450 footballers from China, Spain, Japan, Vietnam, Kenya, Uzbekistan, and Thailand have converged in Guiyang, transcending geographical barriers to showcase their talent and skills over the following six days.
Yin Deqiang, head coach of Shenzhen Xinpengcheng Football Club, has dedicated 26 years to youth training. He considers nurturing children's football dreams his most sacred mission. "High-level competitions are crucial for them," he emphasized, "because this is the golden developmental stage for young players. If possible, we hope to play more matches and exchange ideas with diverse teams."
In the opening match, Spain's Huesca International fell 0-4 to Guiyang Football Association, yet its players remained optimistic. "Here, there are no strangers, only future friends," declared team member Francisco Javier. He shared that Guizhou had reignited his passion for football: not just in the pursuit of victory, but also in the goodwill, enthusiasm, and embrace of diverse cultures.
"The 'Spark Cup' is more than a high-level competition; it's a bridge for cultural exchanges," stated a spokesperson from the organizing committee. "We aim to showcase Guizhou's opening-up and vitality through football, while also allowing Chinese youth to experience the charm of football cultures."
