On Aug 18, VMR Technology Co in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, officially launched the world's first humanoid robot head module - OmniHead. Designed specifically for embodied AI, the module effectively addresses current challenges facing the development of humanoid robots, such as weak environmental perception and reliance on manual remote control, providing crucial technical support for expanding practical application scenarios for robots.

The OmniHead is equipped with a visual system composed of three sets of 10 array cameras, distributed at the front and both rear sides of the head, forming a panoramic view that allows the robot to precisely locate and autonomously navigate in complex environments. It also deeply integrates AI large models and a circular microphone array, supporting 360-degree sound source localization and natural conversation. It also can achieve 5-meter far-field sound pickup with six-microphone collaborative noise reduction, accurately distinguishing different sound sources during multi-person interactions, and supports bilingual communication in both Chinese and English.

Additionally, OmniHead features a wide range of open interfaces, supporting joint inference of visual and voice multimodal data, and is compatible with various humanoid robot platforms. It can extend embodied AI across multiple application scenarios, including commercial offices, smart manufacturing, smart homes, and medical care.
