Guiyang maintains good air quality in August

Data shows that in August, the proportion of days with good air quality in the central urban area of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, reached 100 percent, with the monthly average concentration of PM2.5 as low as 10 mg per cu m.
In August, Guiyang's comprehensive air quality index was 1.72. In addition to PM2.5, the concentrations of other major pollutants remained low, with the monthly average concentration of inhalable particles at 20 mg per cu m, sulfur dioxide at 5 mg per cu m, and nitrogen dioxide at 12 mg per cu m. The maximum 8-hour average concentration of ozone and the daily average concentration of carbon monoxide were both within standards.
Most of the 14 districts, cities, counties, and development zones in Guiyang experienced good air quality on every day in August. In terms of PM2.5 concentration control, Guanshanhu district and Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone performed best, with a monthly average concentration of only 7 mg per cu m. Qingzhen city and the Free Trade Zone were at 8 mg per cu m, while Yunyan district and Huaxi district were at 9 mg per cu m.
