Guiyang-made carbon fiber goes global

eguiyang.com.cn|Updated: October 27, 2025

Independently developed by Guizhou ZitaTek Co, its "epoxy chopped carbon fiber prepreg" technology, is helping Guizhou-made carbon fiber products reach the global market. In the temperature-controlled, dust-free workshop of the company, located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, rolls of black carbon fiber precursor are precisely cut and mixed with low-viscosity epoxy resin. Within just 10 minutes, they are transformed into lightweight automotive component casings.

"The chopped fiber process has reduced the cost of carbon fiber products by 30 percent, and the product forming time has been shortened from the 40 minutes required for continuous carbon fiber to just 10 minutes," explained Qin Shu, the company's general manager.

Currently, the company's carbon fiber products are widely used in high-end sectors such as aerospace, automotive manufacturing, and rail transportation, and have even entered the consumer goods market. Since the launch of its products in 2023, the company has quickly captured both domestic and international markets, receiving numerous orders for computer casings, automotive components, and more, with products being exported to countries like the United States, Germany, and Mexico.

As of now, the company holds over 10 invention patents and more than 20 utility model patents. "This year, our team has grown to over 110 members, with more than 50 new additions," said Qin Shu. To meet the continuously growing market demand, the company's production lines are operating around the clock, and it is expected that this year's output value will double, reaching 50 million yuan ($7 million).
