A carnival of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) got underway in Wujiang Village Resort in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 24.

The five-day event can be broken down into four parts: ICH seminars, ICH experience, ICH innovation, and a food festival.

Over 100 experts will gather to showcase more than 60 ICH items, including handicrafts, performances, and other traditional techniques, treating tourists to a series of immersive and unique cultural experience and activities.

Wujiang Village Resort, located in Zunyi's Bozhou district, relies on the unique resource advantages of the Wujiang River and is divided into six sections: Chunxin Gorge ecological resort, a hot spring leisure resort, a valley camping and exploration area, a high-altitude agriculture experience area, a pastoral scenery leisure area, and an original village life area.

The resort has successfully transformed its business from sightseeing to vacationing and overnight stays. It has also formed a unique ecological and humanistic leisure holiday resort, and explored the unique characteristics of northern Guizhou and ICH resources.

It has become an international tourism resort that integrates sightseeing, leisure, vacationing, health preservation, and conferences.

Zheng Xin, deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said Guizhou will take the opportunity of cultural and tourism integration to protect, utilize and develop its local intangible cultural heritage.
