Guizhou establishes friendly relation with Colombia's Narino Department

Guizhou province in Southwest China signed a letter of intent to establish friendly provincial relationship with Narino Department of Colombia on July 8.

The ceremony was witnessed by attendees of the "Implementing Global Development Initiative, Facilitating Green and Low-Carbon Development" sub-forum, part of the ongoing Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2023 in Guiyang, provincial capital of Guizhou.

The year of 2023 marks the 43rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Colombia. In line with this framework, Narino Department has accepted the invitation from Guizhou to attend the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2023 and establish a friendly regional relationship.

Located in southern Colombia, Narino Department boasts diverse topography, abundant natural resources, as well as thriving agriculture, culture and tourism industries. It shares similarities with mountainous Guizhou. The establishment of friendly relations between the two regions will improve the well-being of both regions' people, promote mutually beneficial socioeconomic development, and contribute to China-Colombia friendship. 

Next, the two sides will promote cooperation in various fields, especially in green development and digital economy.
