In 2024, energy sector investment in Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 84 billion yuan ($11.46 billion). The new energy comprehensive base is expected to achieve an output value of 280 billion yuan, with the total raw coal output reaching 168 million metric tons, a 9.8 percent increase from the previous year.

Breakthroughs in the development of Guizhou's coal industry, progress in power project construction, achievements in the oil and gas industry, and collaborative development in new energy were accomplished.

This year, efforts will be made to advance key coal mine projects, accelerate the construction of power projects, strengthen the management of new energy projects, and promote coalbed methane and shale gas projects, maintaining the energy industry's development momentum.

The province will also optimize energy scheduling and improve energy supply. It will coordinate the output of hydro, thermal, wind, and solar power and ensure a stable and continuous oil and gas supply.

Implementing the three-year safety production improvement action plan and the measures for mine safety will be prioritized to prevent major accidents and curb more minor incidents, ensuring a stable energy environment.
