For Mo Fuyuan, a deputy to the National People's Congress and a postal delivery worker at the Longli County Postal Branch in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Guizhou province, the most beautiful scenery along his route is in the countryside.
His primary focus has always been issues concerning agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. Whenever he delivers mail to the rural areas, Mo takes the time to chat with the villagers, listen to their concerns, and solicit their opinions and suggestions.
During one of his research trips, Mo learned that Pingxi village was developing its camellia oil industry. This industry transformed over 4,000 mu (267 hectares) of barren hills into lush green landscapes, providing employment opportunities for nearly 100,000 residents.
Despite its potential as a genuine wealth-generating industry, the camellia oil industry faced several challenges during its development. Consequently, Mo gathered feedback from the community and submitted a proposal at the 2024 National People's Congress.
This proposal received attention and responses from relevant departments of the State Council. As a result, some issues have been addressed, and the camellia oil base in Pingxi is now developing a comprehensive industrial chain that integrates production, education, research, agriculture, and tourism.
This year, Mo has shifted his focus to three-wheeled agricultural transport vehicles and conducted detailed research on issues related to the construction of rural mechanized farming roads. He plans to submit relevant suggestions to support the construction of high-standard farmland.
