Zhou Jingyu, a deputy to the National People's Congress from Southwest China's Guizhou province, has worked in the power industry for more than 20 years. At this year's national two sessions, he will apply his practical work experience to offer advice on the high-quality development of the power grid.
Zhou has fulfilled his duties as an NPC deputy by conducting visits and research and putting forward several suggestions for constructing the power system and optimizing power grid resource allocation in Guizhou and across China.
At the 2024 national two sessions, Zhou proposed six suggestions, including introducing clean energy from Northwest China into Guizhou, which was his primary focus.
In recent years, Guizhou's energy demand has continuously increased due to rapid economic and social development and the mission of "transmitting electricity from the west to the east."
Zhou believes that promoting clean energy transmission from Northwest China to Guizhou and fully utilizing Guizhou's geographical advantages and the existing "west-to-east power transmission" channels will be crucial for ensuring southern China's medium and long-term power supply needs.
At this year's national two sessions, Zhou will promote transmitting clean energy from the Northwest to Guizhou, offer advice on enhancing the power supply capacity, and ensure the security of southern China's power supply.
