The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is underway in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province, from April 15 to May 5. A total of 108 enterprises from Southwest China's Guizhou province are participating in the fair, including 25 first-time exhibitors.
This year's Canton Fair features 55 exhibition areas and 172 product sections, comprising approximately 74,000 booths and attracting around 31,000 domestic and international enterprises. As one of China's key international exhibitions for foreign trade development, the Canton Fair is a crucial platform for businesses to expand markets and secure orders.
Among Guizhou's 108 enterprises, 41 participated in the first phase of this year's Canton Fair, showcasing new material, chemical, consumer electronic, and new energy products.
On the opening day, Guizhou exhibitors received 1,531 visits from domestic and international buyers and secured overseas intent orders totaling $3.01 million, marking a 36.17-percent increase compared to the same period during the 136th Canton Fair.
The Guizhou delegation aims to use the Canton Fair to further galvanize exhibitors' enthusiasm for exploring international markets, enhance supply-demand matching efficiency, expand Guizhou's global network, and boost the high-quality development of the province's open economy.
