Tongren in Southwest China's Guizhou province is known for its matcha industry, selling products locally and exporting them to over 40 countries and regions.
Guicha Group, a local tea company, has developed over 30 matcha-based foods and beverages, such as matcha chocolate and matcha ice cream. It has partnered with leading domestic and international tea and dining brands, continuously expanding its industrial footprint.
In March, China's first "Matcha Freshippo Village" was established in Bapan town. With the support of Hema Fresh's digital supply chain, Tongren's matcha can now efficiently reach major cities across China.
Earlier this year, 36 metric tons of matcha entered the North American market, and Tongren's matcha achieved its first large-scale export to Japan, competing directly with Japanese matcha.
In 2024, Tongren's matcha products were sold to over 30 domestic cities and 40 international markets, ranking first in production and sales nationwide. By the first quarter of 2025, exports had already approached 100 tons.
Tongren has also established more than 80 "Fanjing Matcha" experience stores in major tourist attractions, high-speed railway stations, and airports across the province. Its comprehensive marketing network covers over 30 key cities and six major economic zones.
