A delegation from Southwest China's Guizhou province visited the University of Newcastle in Australia on May 12, engaging in discussions on higher education cooperation and exchanges.
Guizhou University and the University of Newcastle signed a memorandum of understanding, strengthening research collaboration, academic exchanges, and joint training in fields such as mining and resource engineering.
The University of Newcastle, founded in 1965, is a prestigious public research university with an international reputation. Located in Newcastle, New South Wales, it has campuses in the Central Coast, Sydney, and overseas in Singapore. The university is renowned for its outstanding teaching quality, innovative research achievements, and industry-aligned educational model.
Representatives from Guizhou University hope to integrate Guizhou's expertise in precise mineral exploration and refined mining with Australia's deep processing strengths.
They aim to explore establishing a joint research center for intelligent mining and efficient mineral utilization, promote the transformation and application of research achievements, and foster collaborative development in innovative talent cultivation.
They also seek to strengthen the construction of an internationalized research environment, form an open innovation ecosystem with global competitiveness, and contribute solutions to the green transformation and sustainable development of the global mining industry.
