A delegation of travel agents from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, and Norway arrived in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 14, starting a six-day visit.
The activity was initiated to promote Guizhou's distinctive natural landscapes and ethnic cultural resources to European markets. Benefiting from China's 240-hour visa-free transit and instant tax refund upon departure policies, Guizhou is seizing opportunities for inbound tourism development.
UK travel columnist Alexandra Outhwaite enthusiastically remarked, "This is my first visit to China, but Guizhou's waterfalls and countryside have already captivated me. I'm eager to explore this magical land."
The itinerary includes visits to iconic sites like Huangguoshu Waterfall, Basha Miao village, and Zhaoxing Dong village, alongside activities such as watching Guizhou Village Super League soccer matches. Delegates will also participate in Libo's "China Tourism Day" celebrations on May 19.
Zhang Li, director of the China National Tourist Office in London, emphasized: "This marks our largest and most multinational inspection project. Guizhou's rich ethnic heritage and natural landscapes demand collaborative efforts with European partners to craft market-ready tourism products."
