The China (Guizhou)-Thailand Cultural and Tourism Business Meeting was recently held in Bangkok.
As the country's capital, Bangkok was the first direct-flight destination from Guizhou to Thailand. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and picturesque landscapes, Guizhou is also emerging as a new tourist destination for Thai people, revealing vast potential and opportunities for cultural and tourism exchanges between the two places.
The Guizhou delegation introduced the development of its cultural and tourism industries. It proposed deepening cooperation with Thai institutions, tourism enterprises, and associations in promoting resources, facilitating tourist exchanges, and cultivating talent.
The Guizhou Travel Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Thai Tourism Association, while the Guizhou Travel Association Inbound Tourism Branch partnered with the Thai Outbound Travel Agencies Association. These agreements focus on establishing effective communication mechanisms, sharing relevant information, and fostering stronger business collaboration.
The Guizhou delegation briefed representatives on Guizhou's socio-economic and cultural tourism development. The Bangkok government and Tourism Authority of Thailand expressed interest in collaborating with Guizhou on culture, tourism, big data, and new energy industries.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand also showed enthusiasm in expanding tourist markets and building the Rainbow Tourism Alliance connecting Guizhou, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hong Kong/Macao, and Bangkok.
It also accepted Guizhou's invitation to join the International Mountain Tourism Alliance and attend its 2025 annual conference.
