Over a dozen villagers from Southwest China's Guizhou province staged their first runway show at the China Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka on June 4, drawing crowds of onlookers who gathered for photos.

This marked the first time villagers were invited to model in Japan. Yang Chunlin, a Miao designer from Guizhou and one of China's top 30 fashion designers, stated in an interview, "We aim to showcase China's achievements in rural vitalization and ethnic unity to the world through this fashion show."

During their Osaka tour from June 4 to 7, the villagers – representing Guizhou's Miao and Dong ethnic groups – will perform three fashion shows. After the expo events, they will also walk the streets of Osaka and visit prominent landmarks to highlight Guizhou's cultural charm.

In recent years, Guizhou's rural fashion show has gained global attention, attracting international media coverage and models from over 20 countries. With over 30,000 participants to date, the grassroots fashion movement is steadily winning global recognition.
