A delegation of young people from Changhua, Taiwan, visited Taipan village in Taijiang county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 7, where they participated in a basketball friendship match against the Taipan 1936 Basketball Team at the Village Basketball Association (Village BA) court.
That afternoon, the youngsters from Taiwan visited a cultural market, court stands, offline experience stores, and Taipan "1936" Street, gaining an in-depth understanding of how Village BA rose to fame and how the local area promotes rural vitalization through the integration of culture, tourism, and sports.
The basketball friendship match, as the highlight of the exchange event, took place that evening. Before the game, players from both teams exchanged gifts and took group photos. Following the referee's whistle, the match officially began.
On the court, players demonstrated their athleticism, with intense physical contests, precise three-point shots, and fluid fast-break layups unfolding one after another. After intense competition, the Changhua County Basketball Team from Taiwan won with a score of 96:75.
Village BA is not only a competitive arena, but also a stage for showcasing ethnic culture. During halftime, young people from Taiwan living in Guizhou presented a spectacular lion dance performance, while local ethnic groups offered characteristic song and dance performances.
Cen Jianglong, director of the Taipan village committee, stated: "Today's match was a collision of passion and a dialogue between the youth. Players from both teams competed fiercely on the court, performance teams showcased their talents, and young representatives fully displayed their abilities."
